David Adiele is a football superstar of repute and distinction, who made Nigeria proud as a defender in the national team the Green Eagles. Born on February 5, 1955 in Kumba, Southwest Cameroon, he made several appearances for the national team as a defender.

Adiele was a member of the 1980 Nigerian squad that demolished Algeria in the African Cup of Nations final in Lagos. He also played for the national team at the Summer Olympics in Moscow in 1980.

He also played his club football with the erstwhile Abiola Babes FC of Abeokuta and Bendel Insurance of Benin.

The search for greener pastures took him to the United States, where he pursued his football career. On his retirement from active football activities, Adiele has been pursuing other things for survival. In 2022, he was seen at a Hispanic grocery store in the US allegedly working as a security guard.

Currently residing in the US, he is a recipient of the national honour of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).
