In connection with a long-running paternity dispute, Afrobeats musician Davido (David Adeleke) has been accused in public by Ayo Labinjoh (mother) and her daughter Anuoluwapo Mitchelle (commonly referred to as Anu) of bullying, intimidation, and harassment.
A protracted paternity issue with Davido has centered on a mother and daughter.
Anu, about 12-13 years old, asserts that Davido is her father and has requested his consent to a new DNA test to verify her identity.
Anu said she was devastated by Davido’s response to her earlier appeal for a DNA test “Dear Nigerians: My dad, Mr. David Adeleke replied me earlier this evening. I was devastated on the way he cursed me out, bullied me, and threatened to lock my mother up simply because I want to establish my identity,” she wrote on her Instagram page.
Davido’s assertions that several DNA tests were performed were denied by Labinjoh and Anu, who maintained that just one faulty test—which they suspect was manipulated or handled improperly—was carried out.
They claim that Anu endured years of bullying and emotional strain as a result of the controversy, including psychological stress and mocking at school.
According to the mother, Davido tormented her daughter in communications and used threatening or abusive language in recent interactions, notably with Anu.
To fully resolve the issue, she has stated that she wants an impartial, globally overseen DNA test, potentially with assistance from the US Embassy and State Department.
Davido has vehemently denied being Anu’s father, claiming on social media that he is not the father after five DNA tests.
According to claims of a leaked conversation, Davido instructed the little girl to pursue the matter and reinforced the statement, “I’m not your father,” using violent language.
The topic has remained in the public eye due to the opposing narratives, with Labinjoh claiming that the tests were defective and Davido claiming that there were numerous negative tests.
Since the conflict began in 2017, both parties have accused the other of disseminating false information and causing emotional distress, particularly to the child in question.
