The entire music community is grieving the loss of renowned American gospel singer and worship leader Ron Kenoly who has died at the age of 81. In a message posted on Kenoly’s official Instagram page, his longtime music director Bruno Miranda made the announcement. According to the article, the acclaimed singer and songwriter passed suddenly on February 3, albeit the cause of death was not given.

A singer and songwriter, Ron Kenoly was born on December 6, 1944. His music lead millions of people into God’s presence. Having spent over 40 years in Lord’s Vineyard, he has been referred to as the father of worships.

Kenoly, widely considered as one of the pioneers of modern worship music, rose to global recognition in the 1990s with songs that molded modern Christian worship and garnered him a devoted international audience.

Kenoly began singing in a Baptist church in his hometown, Coffeyville, Kansas, United States. He is a pioneering worship leader noted for dynamic, praise-filled live records, with notable songs including “Ancient of Days,” “Lift Him Up,” “Anointing Fall on Me,” and “Mourning into Dancing.” “All Honor,” “I See the Lord,” “Jesus is Alive,” “Be Gloried,” “Righteousness, Peace, and Joy,” “God is Able,” “Hallowed Be Your Name,” “Sing Out with One Voice,” “Welcome Home,” and “High Places” are more songs.
