Senator Bassey Edet Otu, the governor of Cross River State, has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, in appreciation of his extensive contributions to public service, governance, and humanitarian development throughout Nigeria. At the university’s convocation event on Saturday, January 31, 2026, the governor received the Doctor of Humanities (Honoris Causa).
