As his administration seeks to maintain peace and advance the state, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has urged citizens to keep their composure and have faith in God.

Speaking at an extraordinary Inter-Denominational Church Service on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church in Port Harcourt in honor of the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day, the governor made the call.

Fubara underlined that his faith in God, who provides him with courage and confidence, is the source of his serenity and poise.

“The reason why I don’t complain is that I know that I have what is supreme, and that is God, he stated.

“So, I want everyone to be relaxed. What is important is peace for this dear state, and we will get it by the special name of God.”

“I said something that dogs bark when they do not understand,” Governor Fubara said in reference to a remark he made a few days prior.

“Now, see, a lot of you don’t understand, and that’s the reason why I don’t shout, I don’t complain. I know what I have. I know that I have one who is supreme, and that’s God.”
