Eric Chelle has modernized the attack, steadied the Nigerian national team, and given the Super Eagles their confidence back.
The head coach of the Nigerian national team is Eric Sekou Chelle, a former Malian national team player and football manager.
Since taking over as head coach on January 7, 2025, the Super Eagles have won ten (10), drawn five (5), and lost one (1) of their sixteen (16) games. Additionally, the club has scored 34 goals and given up 15.
Super Eagles supporters had differing views about his appointment. Still, he has gradually gained the support of some of his detractors, particularly in light of his team’s outstanding performances in the current 2025 AFCON.
His most recent accomplishment was guiding the Super Eagles to the 2025 AFCON semi-final with a commanding 2-0 victory over the Algerian Desert Foxes.
The semi-final results are as follows:
- Cameroon 0 – 2 Morocco
- Senegal 1 – 0 Mali
- Algeria 0 – 2 Nigeria
- Égypt 3 – 2 Côte d’Ivoire
The semi-final fixtures
