Bandits raided a police station in the Ipele-Owo community, which is situated in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, during the evening of Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
Around ten o’clock at night, the roughly twenty bandits broke into the hamlet and opened fire without distinction. The Police Divisional Station was attacked and set on fire.
The attacks, which several people described as horrifying, forced them to withdraw into the bush.
In a different incident, terrorists killed seven members of the Bum community in Chugwi, Vwang District, Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State.
According to reports, the attack happened on December 31 at approximately 11:00 p.m., just as the locals were getting ready to say goodbye to 2025.
A few minutes into 2026, armed extremists broke into the village and began attacking the populace. There are concerns that the number of casualties may increase because seven bodies were found, and numerous others were hurt.
The attack has not been attributed to any group.
Despite promises that security measures were being strengthened, Plateau State has seen several deadly attacks in recent years, especially targeting rural populations.
