The head coach and Chelsea Football Club have split up after a terrible run, following rumors that the club’s board met to talk about his future.
Enzo Maresca was fired by Chelsea on January 1, 2026, due to a poor Premier League performance.
The Blues have won one of their past seven Premier League games after drawing with Bournemouth on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
When Maresca joined Chelsea in the summer of 2024, he signed a five-year contract, which the team has the option to extend by an additional year.
In addition to his striking remarks regarding the club’s leadership in the media, the Italian has been under increasing pressure after a disappointing run of Premier League defeats.
The club is currently in fifth place in the Premier League standings, 15 points behind champions and London rivals Arsenal, following the 45-year-old’s departure from Stamford Bridge.
Enzo guided Chelsea to victories in the UEFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Conference League while he was head coach.
